It is often said that pedestrians in London are never more than ten feet from a rodent, so presumably our broadband cables must be in equal proximity to the four-legged fiends. On August 10th, rats chewed through Sky and Talk Talk fibre, causing outages over much of south London. This is the way the Internet ends, not with a bang but a whisker.
